consisting of 783 ETFE cushions located in Tianjin, China, total 7060sqm.

the biggest one 42sqm while the smallest about 0.5sqm,
complicated,eyecatching as well as functional structure.

 

ETFE INTRODUCTION,

Ethylene tetrafluoroethylene, ETFE, is a thermoplastic fluoropolymer, was designed to have high corrosion resistance and strength over a wide temperature range. ETFE is apolymerand its source-based name is poly(ethene-co-tetra fluoro ethene).

Notable buildings and designs using ETFE to cover the outside of the football stadium Allianz Arena or the Beijing National Aquatics Centre (the Water Cube of the 2008 Olympics) - the world's largest structure made of ETFE film (laminate). The panels of The Eden Project, Cornwall, UK. Biomes are also made of ETFE and the Tropical Islands have a 20,000 m² window made of this translucent material.

They are most often supported by a structural frame and maintain transparency and strength for over 25 years. ETFE is also highly resistant to fire and heat.
