Q1: How do I set the date? Please don't direct me to the supplied instructions.

A1: 1.Press "power" button to change from standby mode into active mode. 2. click "menu" button to enter configuration. 3. Use "up" and "down" button to scroll and highlight "date and time" menu, click "Power" then selec "set date and time" 4. up and down to adjust the value, press "video" button to confirm your input. After change all data field, please press "power" to save 5.press "menu" to exit configuration.

Q2: can you disable doorbell?

A2: Set to 'do not disturb' feature on the menu.

Q3: also does it have motion detection?

A3: As best as I can determine, it does not have a motion detection mode. One has to push the power button on the the device to turn on the screen to see who is outside the door.

Q4: why is there a cat on here?  what is its' purpose? i want to buy but it appears juvenile.  it seems 'hello kitty'

A4: There to describe the night vision feature (cats can see much better in semi-darkness). You can strategically cover with a piece of black duct tape to conceal it.

Q5: Can you share the specifications of the connector and cable between the camera and monitor? I may need to construct an extension cable.

A5: I did not have to add anything, it's just a simple installation. Which is good! If you have a standard size of door you'll be fine.

Q6: How far can the camera see? 50ft? 100ft? 200ft? What about under limited light / at night?

A6:You can see mountains which far beyond 200ft in daytime, but you have to get closer to the camera if you want an recognizable face due to its focus range 3-6 feet, 3~6 feet under fully darkness.

Q7: I would like to know if it will record or take picture without any one pressing a button. I means if it can start recording when it detect motion?

A7: It will take picture under two circumstance: first press record button on the panel, second, when someone ring the bell. No, it do not support motion detection.

Q8: Will this work on an outside door without a storm door in cold weather? My peephole frosts up on the inside of the front lens and I can't see thru

A8: Although, we did not test it under extreme weather, but we sold many to Russian customers, they never complain about that. Optical peep hole easily frost inside due to a pair of lens, on the contrary, interspace between the camera lens and front panel is much smaller, so my answer is it is probably not.

Q9: how long do the batteries last; my last unit seems like they only lasted a day....so when i went to use it...batteries were dead....and this unit?

A9: The 4pcs AA battery can last at least 3 months if capture 10 images per day. But battery will die overnight if taking video.

Q10:how many mpixel camera?

A10: It is industrial CMOS 30Mpixel camera, which is equal to 200Mpixel cellphone camera
