K thermocouple wire:

Insulation could be PVC, XLPE, Teflon, Silicone rubber, etc

Type K(NiCr-NiSi) thermocouple finds ther widest use in all base metal thermocouple above 500oC. Positive leg NiCr(KP) : Ni: about 90% Cr: about 10%
Negative leg NiSi(KN): Ni: about 97% Si: about 3%
Type K thermocouple has strong resistance to oxidation than other base metal thermocouples. It hs high EMF against Platinum 67, excelletn temperature accuracy, sensitivity and stability, with a low cost. It is recommended for oxidizing orinert atmospheres, but cannot be used directly in the following cases:
1, alternatively oxidizin and reducing atmosphere
2, atmosphere with sulphur gases
3, long time in vacuum
4, low oxidizing atmosphere such as hydrogen and carbon monoxide atmosphere
