 Consumer's Question and Answer:   

1.I am buying a lamp for my son for piano practice. Try to decide between this one vs DL01. Any suggestions?

They will probably both do the same but I like the one I bought because of the size of the base.

2.does the bulb get hot? thank you 

not at all. right now, i've had it on for 45 minutes and i can touch it. it's a little uncomfortably warm, but it can be touched, and it generates no heat. it's not even a bulb. it's like a plate, maybe 4 inches by 3 inches and the led lights are behind it. it completely lights up, like a nook kind of, but obviously a lot brighter

3.If plugged into the correct outlet, would a wall switch be able to turn this light on and off? 

No. Removal of power will turn off the lamp, and then you must slide the light control to turn it back on.   

4. What is the lumens of this lamp? 

  The specs on the box side say 450.

5. I am used to the standard light bulbs, for instance, 60 watt. Can anyone tell me what

wattage this lamp is at the highest setting? 

Jack, a difficult question as the LED does not have the same properties as a incandescent lamp and I don't remember the lumens rating (measure of light intensity). The light has the colder blue hue (5600k) verses a warmer incandescent (2700k). It has a very nice electronic dimmer that at full brightness would appear to be equivalent to maybe a 75-100 watt task light. I hope this helps.
