It is the most advanced technique in mirror-making,that has much larger outcome than the old technique:Aluminum Vacuum Evaporation Coating and the quality is much better.
Magnetron sputtering is a plasma coating process wherby sputtering material is ejected due to bombardment of ions to the target surface. The vacuum chamber of the PVD coating machine is filled with an inert gas, such as argon. By applying a high voltage, a glow discharge is created, resulting in acceleration of ions to the target surface and a plasma coating. The argon-ions will eject sputtering materials from the target surface (sputtering), resulting in a sputtered coating layer on the products in front of the target.
Q:What is the difference between Magnetron Sputtering and Aluminum Evaporation?
A:The Magnetron Sputtering can do all procedure in making mirror automatically.All we need is to upload the glass in the beginning and download the mirror in the end.Then it can be packed in wooden case immediately.The mirror is coated,back painted and dried in one production line,no need to be dried in the air.
Compared with Aluminum Evaporation technique,the Magnetron Sputtering Mirror is more even on the coating,much better performance on the back paintings cause under the Aluminum Evaporation,the pin hole and flaws may occur a lot when drying in the air.Also Magneton Sputtering Mirror have no problem of finger print that often occurs by the old technique.
